The Carers Home Support Scheme

Providing services for carers throughout the Adur District, which covers Fishersgate, Southwick, Shoreham, Sompting and Lancing. Support is available through the two parts of the scheme:

The Home Visiting Service

A trained volunteer befriends the cared-for person and sits with them in their own home, enabling the carer to have a break for 2-4 hours per week.

The 'Home from Home' Respite Service

The 'Home from Home' Respite service is held at the Carers Centre on a Monday and Friday morning between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. It allows the carer to have a break and some time alone at home. A varied programme of activities is offered on an informal basis, including arts, crafts, games, reminiscence sessions, or just a chat over tea and biscuits in a friendly environment.

Both services are delivered by a dedicated team of well-trained staff and volunteers.

In addition to the above, seasonal outings and a Christmas Party are also arranged by the Home Support Scheme.

ALL THE SERVICES ARE SUBJECT TO ASSESSMENT AND AVAILABLE RESOURCES.

More volunteers are always needed to meet the demand for our service.
