The Carers Centre

The Carers Centre in Pond Road, Shoreham-by-Sea provides a range of services and support, including the Carers Home Support Scheme and the Carers Information Project. It can signpost carers to other sources of information, support, and services.

As well as the provision of information, the Centre offers the opportunity for carers to call in to talk over their situation with a member of staff in a relaxed and informal setting. In addition there are a range of complementary therapies on offer to carers at reduced rates. The sessions are provided by fully qualified therapists and include Reflexology, Trager and Holistic Massage. Appointments need to be made in the first instance through the Association Manager.

Other regular activities that offer carers the chance to get together socially include art sessions, crafts, cookery demonstrations and flower arranging. There are also outings to places of interest and other special events. The Association organises Support Groups for both carers and former carers, which meet at the Centre and at Shadwells Court in Lancing on alternate months. There is also a group for Parent Carers which meets fortnightly, at the Centre on Thursday mornings, and a group specifically for current carers.
